Strategic plan

With a view to increasing sustainable cocoa production, the producing niche cocoa and restoration of the Cameroon label, SODECAO has drawn up a Strategic Plan for the 2020/2027 which is anchored in the Rural Sector Development Strategy and in the Cocoa/Coffee Sector Recovery and Development Plan. This plan is a matrix of actions designed to provide relevant responses to the problems facing the cocoa sector in general, and SODECAO in particular. It aims to address the problems of the sector in relation to:

  • - The production of high-performance plant material;
  • Protection of the cocoa orchard;
  • Conservation of the genetic heritage;
  • Rehabilitation of farm tracks;
  • Creation of experimental and demonstration plantations;
  • Creation of production plantations;
  • Development of agricultural areas;
  • - Promotion of local cocoa processing and consumption;
  • Setting up training engineering for cocoa producer
  • Marketing support;
  • The creation and rehabilitation of seed fields;
  • The development of appropriate cocoa fertilization formulae;
  • Installation of irrigation systems in seed fields.

Challenge

Achieve government’s target of 600,000 tonnes through:

  • The increase and development of sustainable cocoa production;
  • Strengthening economic growth and development in Cameroon;
  • Improving the well-being of producers;
  • The increase in state currencies;
  • The increase in SODECAO’s resources;
  • The fight against poverty and unemployment.
